How it works

About Browser for SignaCast
The browser player is the original SignaCast player, running at play.signacast.co. Any device with a current browser becomes a screen: a Chrome or Edge kiosk, a Raspberry Pi running Chromium, a ChromeOS kiosk or a BrightSign player. Add a screen in the Manager, open its display link on the device, and it plays your playlists, schedules, layouts and designs.
Designs are drawn live in the browser at the screen's own resolution, so there is no render step to wait for. Live streams, YouTube and Vimeo embeds, tickers and crossfades all play in the page. Every page load runs the current build, so there is nothing to update on the device.
Browser screens open a display link instead of pairing, so they do not show online or offline status in the Manager. Start on boot, kiosk lock and keeping the display awake are handled by the device's own kiosk setup, not by SignaCast.
